Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Lost Angel

A group of professors adopt a baby from an orphanage and raise her scientifically in an institute. They name her Alpha. When Alpha is six years old, she is more like a walking computer than a regular child. The professors are kind to her, but neglect teaching her how to have fun. When a reporter, Mike Regan, is invited to interview Alpha, he asks her what she knows about magic. Alpha informs him there's no such thing, but she is intrigued by his words. That night, she sneaks out of the institute in order to find Mike and find out about magic. She gets lost, but tells a police officer that Mike is her father. They track him down. Alpha asks Mike to show her some magic. He shows her how to use her imagination, such as looking at an airplane and seeing a magic carpet. He takes her to a nightclub. His girlfriend, Katie Malloy, works there. Alpha becomes jealous, because she's developing a crush on Mike. When she insults Katie and then cries because Mike likes her better, Katie explains that Mike can like both of them. Alpha decides to like Katie. Mike calls the insititute to tell them Alpha's okay, but they tell him one of the professors has measles and the place is under quarantine. Mike tries to get Katie to take Alpha until the quarantine is lifted, but Katie won't let him run away from the responsibility. He takes Alpha to his apartment. After he gets her settled, his editor tells him he has to cover the story of an escaped convict, Packy Roos. Alpha has become sick from eating too much, so Mike leaves her in the apartment while he goes to try and find Packy.

While he's gone, Packy comes over to the apartment. While he waits for Mike to come back, he tries to read to Alpha to keep her calm so she won't make noise and let anyone know he's there. But, he can barely read, and when Mike gets back, he sees Alpha reading to Packy. Packy tells Mike he was framed by Lefty Moran. He sends Mike out to find him. After a lot of searching, Mike does and brings him back to the apartment. Alpha talks Packy out of shooting Lefty.

The quarantine is over, and the institute comes to take Alpha back. Alpha becomes seriously ill. The professors, realizing that Alpha misses Mike, ask him to come see her. Mike also misses Alpha, but he's not used to being responsible for another person, so he tells her that she should stay at the insitute. Both Katie and Packy criticize him for abandoning Alpha. Filled with guilt, Mike decides to transfer to another city. On the train, he sees a mother and child. When asked if he has any kids, he realizes that he's bound to Alpha and starts to tell the mother about his little girl. He goes back to the institute and is reunited with Alpha.
