Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Lovely and Amazing

Lovely & Amazing tells the story of the Marks family. Jane, the mother, is insecure about her advancing age and pursues plastic surgery. Michelle and Elizabeth, her adult daughters, struggle with unstable careers and romances, while Annie, Jane's adopted, eight-year-old, African-American daughter must endure teasing about her weight and confusion about her past. The film closely examines the women's struggles with self-absorption and neurosis, which result in a coma for Jane, a failed career for Elizabeth, and a statutory rape charge for Michelle. The audience is left to wonder whether these women will ever be able to put their lives back together.
