However, once Paul resumes acting people start dying again in ways that mimic the Dr. Death films.
Once again, Paul believes he's responsible. However, his publicist, Julia, discovers that due to his contract, Herbert and the producer, Oliver would benefit from Paul's death. But, before she can tell anyone she's killed.
After Julia's death Paul is distraught and decides to kill himself. He sets the room on fire and burns, but survives.
He realizes he's been framed and goes after Herbert. They struggle, but Herbert's wife, Faye, who hides in the basement due to being deformed in a fire, and who's always been in love with Paul, stabs Herbert and kills him.
Paul, now also deformed by the fire, joins Faye and they live in Herbert's secluded house hidden away from the world.
