Megamind and Metro Man have been arch rivals since they were babies and were sent to Earth. Metro Man is the city's savior and Megamind the despised villain. When Megamind kidnaps reporter Roxanne and Metro Man tries to save her, Metro Man is lured into an observatory that Megamind has designed to weaken him. Megamind kills Metro Man and is now left without a nemesis. He soon realizes that without him, his life of villainy seems worthless. He soon makes a super serum to create one and accidentally infuses it into Roxanne's cameraman Hal. Meanwhile in a case of mistaken identity, Roxanne and Megamind (disguised as a hologram of another man), start dating. But as soon as Roxanne learns his real identity, she refuses to continue seeing him. When Hal sees them together he retaliates and battles Megamind. Megamind loses and leaves the city. Roxanne then tries to convince Megamind to save the city from Hal. When they go to his old school, they surprisingly discover that Metro Man is still alive, and has faked his death to retire from being a superhero. Both do not want to stop Hal. When Hal captures Roxanne, Megamind comes to the rescue, and returns Hal to his normal state. He finally proves that he is not the bad villain after all.

Best part of story, including ending:
It shows how a new calling can best serve one's interest for the better.
Best scene in story:
When they find Metro Man just slacking off in a hideaway and enjoying his "vacation."
Opinion about the main character:
I love Megamind's humor and twisted sense of genius.
