Robert Arden tries to blackmail Orson -Arkadin- Welles, a Russian billionaire, by threatening to reveal to the world Arkadin's connection with the murder of Bracco in Italy. Finally, a cunning Arkadin hires Arden and asks him to report on his past. Arkadin tells Arden he's amnesic and that he doesn't know where he comes from. During his investigations, Arden will discover the criminal past of the young Arkadin in Poland but his witnesses are murdered one by one. Arden will also finally meet Paola Mori, Arkadin's only child, a young woman overprotected by her father who doesn't want to lose her love and esteem.
