MY AMERICAN UNCLE (Mon Oncle d'Amérique) is a movie directed by Alain Resnais in 1980. The picture won the Grand Prize of the Jury of the 1980 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the 1981 Academy Award in the "Best Screenplay (Jean Gruault) directly written for the screen" category.

This movie describes the relations between the actress Nicole Garcia and the state employee Roger Pierre who's left his family in order to live with his mistress.
In the second plot, Gérard Depardieu is a self-made director competing with a new executive manager for leadership. Soon Depardieu, sent to a new location by his management, must leave his family.
