Deneuve decides to contact her own brother Daniel Auteuil with whom she hasn't had any relations for two years. Auteuil is a doctor who becomes eccentric and aggressive as soon as he's in the presence of Deneuve. While their mother is slowly losing contact with reality, Deneuve and Auteuil will learn to communicate again in the same way they did when they were children.
