Jean-Luc Godard's film follows the life of Nana, a young aspiring actress. The movie is split into twelve vignettes which chronicle Nana's loss of innocence. She becomes a prostitute, watches The Passion of Joan of Arc, talks to a philosopher in a restaurant, and pursues a painful relationship. The culmination of these events is a tragic end for Nana.
