After having electrocuted his mother and her lover in the bathtub, Patrick has sunken into an irreversible coma. Three years later, he's still laying in a bed of Dr. Roget's private clinic.
When the young nurse Susan Penhaligon's is assigned to take care of him, nobody is suspecting that Patrick is totally aware of what's going on inside and ... outside the clinic. Soon, Susan remarks that Patrick, who's fallen in love with her, has developed special abilities such as telekinesis.
Helped by Dr. Wright, Susan will try to prove to the world that Patrick can still feel something without noticing that the young man is completely insane and jealous of the men who are approaching her. Soon, strange accidents happen to Dr. Wright and to Ed, Susan's husband.
