Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Perfect Blue

PERFECT BLUE was directed by Satoshi Kon in 1997.

Mima Kirigoe, a member of the girl band CHAM, announces that she has decided to become a TV actress and to leave the band. For her debut, she has only a few lines to say in an episode of a TV serial but, little by little, she gets more important parts. In the meantime, Uchida, a die-hard fan of Mima, starts to kill all those who try to change the smooth image of Mima the singer. Hence, when Mima has to play the part of a raped girl in her next serial, Uchida kills the screenwriter of the episode and after Mima has accepted to pose nude for a few magazine photos, Uchida murders the photographer. Now Uchida is convinced that Mima can't be the young and so pure girl who used to sing with the CHAM; he believes that she is an impostor who must also be killed.
