The trial is ended due to a discovery of Multiple Personality Disorder and is ordered to be sent to a hospital for further observation. What is unknown to the audience until the end is that the altar boy is very good at deception and is very convinving, which will confuse you to no end, and make you despise him for convincing you also.

Richard Gere stars as Big Shot attorney Martin Vail. He takes a PRO-BONO case in which Edward Norton is accused of killing the Archdioces of Chicago. Things come up about why he would have wanted to and about the city of Chicago's officials. ALL Martin Vail wanted was fame from the case, but he got a lot more than he bargained for in this TWISTING, psychological, Courtroom drama
