FBI agent Melvin Purvis is promoted at his police division. His next mission is to catch a criminal named John Dillinger. Purvis leads a failed ambush at a hotel where he thinks Dillinger is staying. Later, police arrest Dillinger in Arizona. Dillinger escapes from county jail using a fake gun. After Dillinger gets out, his friend Carroll convinces him to rob a bank. During their escape, they go to Little Bohemia. Purvis apprehends Carroll and tortures him for information on Dillinger's whereabouts. Purvis finds out that Dillinger is at Little Bohemia and plans an ambush there. During the ambush, Dillinger escapes. Dillinger's girlfriend is arrested. She is beaten for information on Dillinger's whereabouts which she does not reveal. Dillinger agrees to do a train robbery. Purvis gets information on where Dillinger is from Dillinger's acquaintance Anna. Purvis finds Dillinger and they face off once and for all.

Best part of story, including ending: What I liked about this story was that the cops did everything they had to to catch the bad guys.

Best scene in story: My favorite scene was when Agent Winstead pursues Dillinger because the scene was very exciting.

Opinion about the main character: What I liked most about Purvis was that he was a good cop and used his skills to catch the bad guy.
