Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) and his friend, the bumbling but indefatigable Doctor Watson (Nigel Bruce), have been engaged to escort the young and handsome King Nikolas (Leslie Vincent) on a sea voyage to Algiers. Assassins lie in wait aboard the passenger liner. Holmes and the new king are kidnapped. Their fate lies in the hands of the well-meaning, ineffectual Watson!
