Who knew that Gene Wilder could play an Irishman?
In QUACKSER FORTUNE, Wilder is quite believable as a working-class Dubliner who trades in horse manure (he sells it to gardeners). Chasing after horses on the street, he's almost run over by Zazel, an American student (a fresh-faced Margot Kidder). At first Zazel is beguiled by Quackser's nonconformity, and they embark on a romance. But Zazel's upper-crust friends poke fun at Quackser, and Zazel soon tires of his eccentricities.
