Brandon Lee plays Jake Lo, a student majoring in art. After drawing a model's portrait in a class she approaches him and asks him out on a date. Jake shows up at this art studio and is witness to a murder by Mafia kingpin Antonio Serrano. He is arrested and put into the witness protection program. Jake then finds himself betrayed by the federal agents who were supposed to protect him. Now chased by feuding drug lords and crooked federal agents, Jake is helped by one Chicago cop Mace Ryan (Powers Boothe).
