Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Rock Star

Chris Cole (played by Mark Wahlberg) is all about the music. His girlfriend Emily (played by Jennifer Aniston) is very grounded and supportive of Chris' career. He is a talented singer who performs in a tribute band. Chris is a diehard fan of the rock group Steel Dragon and its lead singer, Bobby Beers. In Chris' tribute ban he manages to sound exactly like Bobby Beers as he belts out Steel Dragon's songs in performance after performance. Chris is devastated when the tribute band gives him the boot.

In a strange twist of fate, Chris receives a telephone call requesting that he replace his idol Bobby Beers who is leaving Steel Dragon. Suddenly, all of Chris' wild rock and roll fantasies are coming true. He flies to LA and practically becomes a superstar overnight. Although Emily travels with the band to certain gigs the decadent lifestyle becomes too much of a strain for their relationship. Groupies are constantly hovering around Chris, who gives in on several occasions to the groupies and to abuse of alcohol and drugs. When Emily realizes that Chris is not the man she fell in love with, she leaves him.
