Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Rushmore

Max Fischer (Schwartzman) is a scholarship student at the prestigious prep school of Rushmore. He doesn't come from the privileged background of his classmates (his father is a barber), but he tries desperately to pretend he does. He's also not a great student, but he's "king of the extracurriculars," from beekeeping, karate team, and French club to writing and directing plays. Suddenly he's on academic probation, then expelled, and his usual routine doesn't work at the local public school. He also falls in love with Rushmore's young but newly-widowed first-grade teacher, Rosemary Cross, but finds himself at war for her attention with a depressed, middle-aged steel magnate named Herman Blume (Murray), who has sons at Rushmore. This wonderfully offbeat 1998 film, written and directed by Wes Anderson ("Bottle Rocket"), includes a terrific soundtrack that has unfamiliar tunes from Cat Stevens and Donovan to Django Reinhardt and Paul Desmond.

This story is about Max Fischer, a fifteen year old overachiever at extra-curricular activities at his school, Rushmore Academy. After falling in love with a first grade teacher, Miss Cross, and befriending an entrepreneur, Herman Blume, Max gets expelled from Rushmore for failing his classes and spending too much time on extra-curricular activities. Max is forced to attend public school, while his new friend dates the woman Max thinks he loves. Jealousy and revenge fuel the movie from here, until the final month of the story where everything comes back together.

A story of a northeastern United States Prep school boy who is actively involved in many of the school clubs. He falls in love with a foreign teacher there and the feelings are not mutual. He doesn't realize that his best friend, played by Bill Marray is about to stromp on Jason Schwartzman's heart by betraying him. ALong the way there are many good laughs and it is a must see for anyone with a good sense of dry humor.
