SHADOW OF A DOUBT is a thriller from Alfred Hitchcock. SHADOW focuses on a handsome gentleman who is also a serial killer, preying on rich widows. Under police surveillance, he travels across the country to seek shelter with his only sister, her husband and three children. His oldest niece has always adored him, but she eventually uncovers her beloved uncle's secret identity. She then must decide whether or not to turn him in.

The plot is about the story of a young woman (Teresa Wright) who admires her uncle Charlie (Joseph Cotten). He goes to Santa Rosa to visit his family, especially to his niece. However, his niece starts to suspect that Charlie is really a murderer of wealthy widows.

Joseph Cotten is a serial killer who has specialized in murdering rich widows. As the police is coming nearer, he decides to visit his only family in Santa Rosa, California. He is received as a king by his sister and above all by his niece Charlie named after him. But the police, still wondering whether Cotten is the man responsible for the unsolved murders, has followed him and tries to use Teresa -Charlie- Wright as a spy in the family. Cotten is soon aware of that and decides to get rid of Charlie.
