Melanie Griffith plays Linda Vess, a Jewish/Irish secretary in 1940 who finds herself working for a spy. She gets herself involved in the "action" and convinces her boss, Ed( Michael Douglas), a Colonel in American Intelligence, to send her to Germany to get the information he needs. While there she tries to track down her Jewish relatives, gather the information requested and get out of Germany alive.
