The film Sid and Nancy, released in 1986, is the dark life story of the Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious and his junkie girlfriend, Nancy Spungen. After groupie, Spungen, and Vicious fall in love that's all she wrote. Their addiction driven love affair is very self destructing for both of them and it becomes overwhelming mentally, emotionally, and physically. As Sid and Nancy become closer the band grows apart and is sabotaged by their relationship. Nancy played by Chloe Webb and Sid played by Gary Oldman not only share a bond with each other but also to their drug of choice, heroin. After the band falls apart, Sid and Nancy's free time is spent mainly shooting up in their room at the Chelsea Hotel in New York. The strung out pair are in their own world which slowly disintegrates around them. At the peak of their drug use together there is some sort of altercation and Sid stabs Nancy, which is supposedly the way she died. This twisted, haunting love affair is full of sorrow and grief, with both people yearning to be loved and cared for.
