Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Snow White and the Huntsman

In the kingdom of Tabor, the king rescues a beautiful young woman named Ravenna from attack. He is bewitched by her beauty and marries her shortly thereafter. Unbeknownst to the king, Ravenna faked the attack to get his attention, and she kills him on their wedding night, becoming the sole ruler of Tabor. The king's daughter, Snow White, is captured and locked in a tower for the rest of her childhood. Ravenna uses magic to retain her youthful looks, sucking the youth and beauty out of any young woman in the kingdom and transferring it to herself. She learns from her magic mirror, however, that her key to immortal beauty lies with Snow White; if Ravenna can eat her heart, she will live forever, but if she doesn't, then Snow White is destined to bring about her downfall. Snow White escapes from her imprisonment, and Ravenna hires a huntsman, Eric, to find her. Eric, having just lost his wife, is uninterested... until Ravenna promises him that she will bring his dead wife back to life if he can bring her Snow White. When Eric finds out that Ravenna was lying, he takes Snow White to join with a rebel army, gathering their forces to prepare to try to take the kingdom back from Ravenna. They get separated during an attack, and they find themselves in the company of eight dwarves, who help them find their way back, yet when the youngest dwarf dies in order to save Snow White, her rage is ignited, and she is hungry for revenge against Ravenna the usurper.

Best part of story, including ending: For the size of its scale, they certainly didn't put a lot of thought into the character's personalities or how the tropes of the original fairy tale would fit into this plot line.

Best scene in story: Some of the special effects, especially upon visiting a fairy kingdom, are moderately impressive and make up for the lack of suspense and intrigue.

Opinion about the main character: Snow White is a totally bland cypher, largely because Kristen Stewart, who can be extremely good when given the right material, simply doesn't fit the role of an angry young warrior.
