Some Kind of Wonderful Movie Review Summary

Actors: Mary Stuart Masterson, Lea Thompson, Eric Stolz

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Some Kind of Wonderful

This is perhaps the least treacly and tricky of John Hughes's many teen comedies. Keith (Stolz) wants more than anything to get the most popular girl in school, Amanda Jones (Thompson) out on a date. His tomboyish best friend(Masterson) loves Keith, but helps him get what he wants. (He also has to deal with Ms. Popular's ex-boyfriend from the rich side of town.) Masterson is wonderful; the scene in which she gives her clueless friend a kissing lesson, puts her whole heart into it, and it blows right past him, is heartbreakingly perfect. One of the many pluses of this unpretentious movie is that Ms. Popular, surprise, is not simply an easy-to-hate snot.
