Leona Stevenson, as a bed-ridden woman alone in her bedroom at night. Husband Henry will be coming home late in from work and her caretakers are finished for the day, taking care of Stevenson. Leona frequently uses her phone to call family or friends to pass the time by but one phone call will be one that she will never forget.

After making her rounds, she telephone Henry's office, but accidently dials the wrong number and is connected to two men's conversation that will shock her immensely. The men is planning a plot to kill someone, a woman that will be killed at 11:15pm that same night. Her first impulse is to find anyone to help her track down the two would-be killers.
Stevenson is now becoming a nervous wreck, pleading for the operator to take some sort of action to the scary news, but the operator waves it off as her being delusional. Next she tries to reach the police, but think of her as being crazy and accused of hearing things that never actually been said. With the police and operator not buying her story, Stevenson becomes full in doubt in whether or not to take any action in the men conversation and go about her daily life. But something about this soon be murder does not sit well as she knows someone's life is in danger.

A woman confined to her bed, when trying to reach her husband, accidentally hears a murder plot over the telephone. In a mass of tension, the rest of the film has her trying to convince police and her husband that she isn't crazy, and with no proof and little way of finding them, she becomes their next intended victim.
