Sarah Morton is a popular writer of mystery novels. She begins to feel that her inspiration is lost, so her publisher/friend, John, sends her to his beautiful, secluded summer home in France, hoping that the peace and quiet he offers will stimulate her to write. Instead, after only a few days at the mansion, Sarah is joined by Julie, John's promiscuous teenage daughter. Julie influences Sarah's writing, and Sarah begins to enter Julie's world of sex, murder, and intrigue. The film features a shocking and unsettling surprise ending.
