Bobby Thompson, a young man living a normal life, goes mad and kills his mother and his wife. Then he starts shooting at cars on the highway and finally hides in a drive-in and methodically fires at the audience from behind the screen.
Meanwhile, Byron Orlok, the well-known horror movies actor, has planned to present his last movie on the same night at the drive-in where Bobby is hidden.
