This story is about a 10 year old boy who ends up in an Ants territory and is subjected to hard labor as punishment for bullying ants. Lucas is a 10 year old boy who is a always being bullied by his peers and as a result of this he has no friends in his neighborhood. After one such bullying incident he takes on his anger on a nearby ant hill and sprays it with water, destroying it injuring some ants as a result. At night when he is asleep, the ants decide to revenge and the ants give him a potion that shrinks him to ant size and they abduct him into their world. Zoc, their leader suggests that Lucas should be killed, but the mother queen decides he should just be punished by being subjected to hard labor.

Hova, Zoc's girlfriend who is also a nurse volunteers to train Lucas, an idea that Zoc is not comfortable with. The two become good friends and are able to teach each other many things about their species. Hova incorporates Lucas in a robbery attempt for jellybeans but their mission is aborted by a wasp attack. Lucas manages to fight back and none of them is hurt, giving him more credit before the queen.
A day comes when Stan, the exterminator comes to Lucas' neighborhood to spray out the ants and wasps but Lucas decides to repay his previous evils by protecting the colony. The ants, wasps and other insects gather up for a fight against the Stan, while Lucas gets the shrinking potion which he uses to shrink Stan. The anthill is saved as a result and Zoc agrees to return Lucas to his normal size. Lucas on the other side feels subjected to the ants and gets them jelly beans such that they won't have to steal anymore.
Best part of story, including ending:
I like this story because it brings out the animosity and self centered nature of human beings.
Best scene in story:
My favorite scene was when Lucas is rescued by Hova after being swallowed by a frog since they develop a liking for each other.
Opinion about the main character:
I like the fact that Lucas was able to learn his lessons and the experience enabled him fight off his bullies.
