Detailed plot synopsis reviews of The Big Vacation

THE BIG VACATION (Les Grandes Vacances) is a comedy directed by Jean Girault in 1967. This film was number 1 at the French box-office the same year.

De Funès is the director of a private school situated in the best part of Paris. Unfortunately, his son has just failed his final exam in English. De Funès decides to send him in London for a month while the daughter of his dear friend Farrelly will be staying at De Funès's school.

Both young people meet by chance, fall in love and decide to get married in Scotland, to the despair of their parents. De Funès and Farrelly will try, by boat and by air, to stop them before the fatal blessing.

Most of the comic situations are created by the clash between french and english culture, specially in gastronomy.
