Marina is a Southern girl who is a hopeless romantic and thinks she's clairvoyant. She dreams of meeting the man of her dreams, and meets Butcher Leo, who lives in New York. They marry on a whim and move to Greenwich Village. Soon Marina mingles with the people in the neighborhood who come by the shop and starts dishing out advice on love and careers. Soon people start following her advice and love her for it. Meanwhile the neighborhood psychiatrist Alex is a little peeved with Marina's meddling with his clients. He first reviles her but soon falls for her charms. Marina's husband on the other hand, starts to fall for one of Marina's "clients," and soon Marina comes to a conclusion that love doesn't need to happen in a magical instant, as she starts falling for Alex too.
