A team of scientists discover that a group of meteors is hurtling towards the Earth, and they have to figure out a way to prevent Earth from being hit and destroyed. Some of the scientists believe that the meteors are a sign that God is angry with humans for travelling off of the planet which they were destined to live on.

The film begins when the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union begin working together in an effort to send a man into space. They choose an astronaut named John McLaren to go up in the atomic rocket, travel around the moon, and come back to Earth. McLaren is forced to eject after his rocket experiences technical problems. Over the next several days, strange things happen on Earth, which no one seems able to explain. Dogs, cats, birds, they all begin behaving in strange fashions, while the sky changes color, and the moon turns from white into a reddish color.
The problem is that when McLaren ejected from his rocket, it kept on going until it hit the Delta Asteroid Belt, and dislodged several meteors. The meteors are due to hit the Earth in seven days, will anyone be able to stop them?
