THE FIREMEN'S BALL is a movie cowritten and directed by Milos Forman in 1967. The picture earned a nomination in the "Best Foreign Language Film" category of the 1969 Academy Awards.

The firemen of a small town are organizing a ball and a lottery in order to honour their former chairman. But everything goes wrong during the ball : the lottery's prizes are stolen, a fire destroys a farm nearby and the girls don't want to take part in the beauty contest.
