The girlfriend kills the man that hired them and her and the thief keep the money and head for Mexico. The dead man's goons chase the thieves and catch up to him in a hotel. There's a shootout and all of the goons are killed. The other robber then shows up, but he's killed also.

Now, the thieves are free of the bad guys, but have the police after them.   They're able to elude the police, hijack a man and his truck and make him drive them to Mexico.
Once in Mexico, they persuade the man not to tell anyone about them and they pay him thirty thousand dollars to give them his truck and to keep his mouth shut. The man agrees; he walks back to the border and the two thieves drive off into the sunset.

After a botched bank heist, a recently paroled criminal and his wife run to the Mexican border with their former employers, cops, crooks, and other walking targets close behind. A great chase movie that was re-made fairly recently with Alec Baldwin adn Kim Basinger.
