British forces are stranded on the island of Crete in the early days of WWII, with the Nazis planning an attack that will cost the lives of thousands. The only means of escape is a treacherous course in the Mediterranean that is guarded by two giant radar controlled guns that are hidden deep within the island mountan fortress known as Navarone. The British OSS quickly assembles a crack commando unit to scale the rugged unguarded cliffs, penetrate the installation, and blow up the guns. More than an action movie, this is a story of how ordinary people encounter unordinary circumstances. This is a story of bravery, suspense, betrayal and sacrifice all to "get the job done". The superstar cast is well suited with an excellent plot, breathtaking scenery and a wonderful score.
