Tom Berenger, Burt Reynolds, and Rod Steiger play three aging Hollywood actors who aren't getting many roles anymore. One night they are out bemoaning their fate, walking in the L.A. hills by the Hollywood sign. While there they discover a dead body. At first they want to ignore it, but then they discover who the dead person is. He is a small time hood who worked for the mob. They put two and two together and find that the man was killed for money he was carrying and it was an inside job. The money was the take one a casino they own. The actors decide that they can use this information to their advantage and get a piece of the money.
