The film relates the criminal story of Martha Beck and Raymond Fernandez, a couple who stole and murdered a number of women in the late forties. They chose their victims among the members of a lonely heart club. Raymond, a hispanic good-looking fellow, would first write torrid love letters to his future victim and then, after a quick seduction, marry them and leave with the money. After having met the obese nurse Martha, Raymond's life will be changed forever. Madly in love with her, he won't hesitate anymore to kill his prey in order to please Martha and ease her jealousy. Both will die on the electric chair in 1951.
