A bunch of little tykes, Spanky, Stymie, Buckwheat and dozen of other boys are members of the He Man Woman Hater's club. The group hold a meeting regarding one of their members, Alfalfa spending time and his little puppy love for his crush Darla. The gang does not like one bit of this, because soon the soapbox derby race is approaching fastly, and Alfalfa is the chosen driver for the race! Things can not possibly get in the way in a time like this, especially a girl.

To get Alfalfa mind off Darla and on with the race, the little troublemakers set up variety of mishaps, one of them involves mixing the twosome sandwiches with kitty litter and their grape juice with gym shoe drippings. Unhappy over the deliberate plan, Alfalfa sets the gang clubhouse on fire. And after a date gone bad, Darla sets her eyes on the more mature rich kid Waldo. Alfalfa and Waldo does whatever they can to win the heart of Darla; one incident where the three youngsters enter a talent show, Darla is the performer and Waldo and Alfalfa does their best to outsing the other.

Waldo puts soap in Alfalfa's water and the young boy starts to horribly sing a love song the best way he can to Darla while bubbles comes out his mouth. Setting love aside (at least for a little while), Alfalfa focused on the derby race, where he and the boys create a handmade race car to go against Waldo's expensive miniature buggy. The question is, who will the race and the heart of Darla? And if so, what is the grand prize the little rascals will get for their hard earned work? And would they get their clubhouse rebuilt again?
