Margaret, Rose and Bernadette are brought on the same day to the Magdalene Sisters asylum. Margaret has been raped by one of his cousins, Rose had to abandon the child she had as she was unmarried, and Bernadette was attracting too much the attention of the boys at the orphanage.
Abandoned by their families, these girls will stay four years in this asylum without being allowed to speak and forced to wash dirty linen all day long.
