A used-to-be hockey player, who lost the championship, gets arrested and forced to coach a rag-tag group of hockey players. He eventually leads them to the championships, against his old coach.

A former youth hockey hero who blew the "big game," now a sleazy lawyer, must do community service by coaching a little league hockey team. In typical youth sports movie fashion, the team is made up of losers, oddballs, and misfits from a sterepotypically multi-cultural low-income section of Minneapolis. Somehow they (and an old friend) bring back his love of the game and, by working together, they go to the championship, where they face his old team, still with the same coach. This being a Disney film, everything works out for the best in the end, with a message that sports are about fair play, teamwork and fun.
