On the other side of town, there is a woman Nancy (played by Gabrielle Union) who lives with her three kids, named , John-John (played by Malik Hammond), Emily (played by Khail Bryant), and Mikey (played by Jeremy Gumbs) . Her husband Jizzy (played by Charles Q. Murphy) is a music star who is neglectful of his family. Benjamin tries to give his music to Jizzy, asking him to listen to it, telling him it has a lot of heart in it. Jizzy tells him heart is not sexy. Benjamin is Santa in the mall to earn some extra money. His friend Jamal (played by Faizon Love) works with him as an Elf. Nancy's daughter sits on Santa's lap and tells Santa the only thing she wants for Christmas is for a nice man to pay her mother a compliment. She points out her mom in the crowd. When he sees Nancy, he really likes her. Nancy is trying to keep it together with the three kids, but she is very sad. She is fighting a custody battle with her ex-husband Jizzy. Benjamin sees her in the dry cleaners. He recognizes her from the mall. He walks in the dry cleaners, he tells her she is attractive, then smiles, and walks out. It is her wish come true.

Jizzy is one song short for his Christmas CD. He has all the rap and hip-hop stuff but nothing with heart. He needs one song with heart. Jizzy shows up at Nancy's house to give her a check. He only stays for a minute, insults Nancy, then leaves. The little girl Emily sees Santa again. She tells Santa her mother wants to go out with the man that gave her a compliment. Benjamin does not want to use the information he got from the little girl in an inappropriate way so he is not sure what to do. Nancy and her girlfriends stake out a Starbuck's in the mall, waiting to find Benjamin. They see him. Nancy introduces herself to him and asks him to take her out. He agrees. They have a nice first date. Emily warns Santa her brother John-john is going to sabotage Benjamin. Benjamin is on the look-out for this so, he avoids it. Benjamin has dinner with Nancy and they start to get along well.

Jizzy's Producer discovers Benjamin's song. Benjamin is visiting Nancy when Jizzy calls Benjamin on his cell phone to offer him a record deal. Moments Later Jizzy calls Nancy's number. Nancy asks Benjamin to pick it up. Jizzy is surprised to hear the same man's voice again. Benjamin quickly hangs up. He asks Nancy if she won a contest because Jizzy just called. Nancy tells him Jizzy is her ex-husband. Benjamin gets nervous. He leaves.

Benjamin goes to Jamal's house to ask Jamal what to do. He discovers Jamal is a bounty hunter by seeing wanted posters on his living room wall. Jamal tells him just to avoid being seen in the same place with Jizzy and Nancy at the same time. At the recording studio they immediately offer Benjamin a deal. They start to record one of Benjamin s songs right away. Nancy's son John-John forces her to stop at the recording studio because he wants to see his father. They come in the studio at the same time while Benjamin is there. Benjamin hides behind people and things to avoid being seen. After Nancy leaves, Jizzy sings Benjamin's song beautifully. Benjamin wants to tell Nancy the truth, but before he gets a chance he learns from Nancy, Jizzy won the custody battle and will have the kids for the Christmas holiday. Benjamin does not have the heart to tell her Nancy the truth in such a moment, which will only make her more upset.

Jizzy sends a costume-maker over to fit the kids for a party he wants them to attend for the purpose of showing them off. John- John overhears the argument between Nancy and Jizzy. Nancy says she is going to marry Benjamin. John- John runs to the mall to tell Santa he has ruined everything. Santa promises John-John the man will never see his mom again. Benjamin calls Nancy to break up. The kids have a terrible time at Jizzy's party. John- John overhears his father say he is going to marry his mom so he can keep her from the other guy. John- John smiles. Then Jizzy says he is going to dump her next. John- John realizes his dad is not in love with his mom. John- John rushes back to the mall looking for Santa to take back his wish. Benjamin is there still dressed as Santa. Benjamin reveals himself to John- John. He tells him what he did. John- John forgives him. Jizzy calls Nancy to tell her John- John is missing. Benjamin takes John- John back to the party returning him. Mikey is also saved by Benjamin from falling off the top of the Christmas tree from the second floor. Benjamin sees both Jizzy and Nancy. They are surprised he knows both of them. Jizzy gets mad, fires Benjamin and his producer, then storms out. Benjamin confesses everything to Nancy, then he leaves thinking he lost her love. She follows to forgive him. They kiss. The producer offers to record a new album with Benjamin. The kids are happy to see their mom finally has a good man.
Best part of story, including ending: This film has a fun premise that Santa is somehow able to take advantage of insider information.

Best scene in story: I like the scene where Jamal has to substitute for Santa because Benjamin is not able to leave the recording studio. Jamal is already super fat, so when he tries to put on the "fat" suit of the Santa costume it is really funny.

Opinion about the main character: Benjamin has a strong desire to do good which makes him a very likable character.
