This movie is the story of how Princess Mia becomes queen and finds true love. Princess Mia has graduated college and, by the royal court's ruling, must find a husband within a month or she forfeits the crown. At the same time another noble family is trying to steal the crown from Mia for their nephew Nicholas. Mia goes through several possible matches with the queen and her best friend and eventually pick a man who seems perfect. Things get complicated however when Mia falls in love with Nicholas instead. Nicholas was planning on simply sabotaging Mia but he falls in love with her as well. The two have a romantic night by a lake but Nicholas's uncle gets a gossip journalist to film them and create a scandal. Mia blames Nicholas, thinking the whole thing was a trick to break up her wedding so he can be king. Mia ends up breaking off her engagement with Andrew as she sees that he is not the one for her and is able to get members of parliament to abolish the law forcing her to wed (with the help of Nicholas who refuses to be king). On the day of coronation Nicholas shows up to win Mia back. Mia is crowned queen and her grandmother and Joe end up getting married in Mia's place.

Best part of story, including ending:
I liked the fact that the queen and Joe end up together.
Best scene in story:
My favorite scene in the movie is when Mia gives a crown to a little orphan girl and lets a group of orphans walk with her in a parade.
Opinion about the main character:
What I most liked about Mia is the fact that she always stayed true to herself.
