The Rage: Carrie 2 Movie Review Summary

Actors: Emily Bergl, Jason London, Amy Irving

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of The Rage: Carrie 2

The movie is the sequel to the movie Carrie from 1976. This is the story of a girl who has telekinetic powers that she uses to seek revenge. Rachel is a high school girl with telekinetic powers who has foster parents. Rachel is an outcast and only has one friend: Lisa. Lisa had been involved with one of the popular guys on the football team and she thought he really liked her and decided to lose her virginity to him. Lisa later realizes she had been seduced and that the football players seduce girls to then sleep with them and rake them - and then discard them. Lisa is devastated and commits suicide by jumping off the high school. Rachel is then asked to the principal's office to talk about Lisa's death and Rachel learns that her real father was also the father of Carrie, the girl who had telekinetic power and who killed hundreds of individuals at prom night many years before.

Rachel knows what the football players are doing and wants Eric, the one who slept with Lisa, to pay. Rachel has pictures of her best friend and Eric and wants to use those pictures as proof that they had been involved and that is why she committed suicide. Rachel runs into Jesse, another member of the football team and she falls for him. She eventually tells Jesse about the photo, who then tells his football player friends. His friends start to harass Rachel to scare her into stopping her investigation. The football players and other members of the popular circle decide to bring Rachel in to ultimately trick her and make her pay. They make her feel as though she is one of them and Rachel gets closer to Jesse. Jesse asks Rachel to prom and they sleep together. What Rachel doesn't know is that there is a camera filming them live in the bedroom, which video recording the high school students later see. Rachel becomes incredibly agitated and is humiliated and her body starts to tremble. Her telekinetic powers have been activated and so glass shatters, killing students. Rachel is in a state of trance and around her is chaos - people running for their lives. Rachel moves furniture and objects in all directions and kills more students. Rachel then makes bottles of alcohol explode and the flames from the fireplace cause a fire to start. People are then set on fire, and she drowns some others in the pool. Rachel is exhausted by the massacre and is laying on the floor. Jesse show up and tells her he did not know his friends had been filming their intercourse. At first she doesn't believe him and tries to kill him with her powers but she then hears the video recording replaying in the background and you can hear Jesse telling Rachel he loved her after she had fallen asleep. Unfortunately it is too late and the ceiling threatens to fall on both of them. At the last minute, Rachel manages to move Jesse out of the way with her powers but she cannot save herself and she dies as she is trapped under the flaming ceiling. The last scene takes place on year later; Jesee is now taking care of Rachel's dog and misses her. Rachel then appears at his window and moves forward to give him a kiss, and then disappears. Jesse realizes it was just a dream and Rachel really is gone.
Best part of story, including ending: I like this story as this is the sequel to the original Carrie from 1976. It is interesting to see what is going to happen in a sequel.

Best scene in story: In the end after the carnage, Jesse shows up and he tells her he loves her and that he never tried to trick her. She realizes he is telling the truth but it is too late and she dies. Carrie had been an outcast all her life, her own parents had given up on her and this was the moment she realized she had been loved. Tragic story.

Opinion about the main character: I like that she willed herself to trust despite all odds being against her.
