McKellan, this movie, based upon the novels of Baroness Orczy. The Scarlet Pimpernel, nom de guerre of a mysterious Englisman, has been playing havoc with Robespierre and his Revolution, darting here, darting there, “with the damned Frenchies looking everywhere,” but to no avail. He simply is too smart and too clever for the French. Ahh. But not so fast! Traps are set! It appears that the French may have their man, after all. The film is about adventure, intrigue, romance, and kidnapped royalty!
Such fun, with nary a dull moment!
