Harry and Beth are a married couple who run a skydiving school together (Harry is the pilot). Harry has been carrying on an affair with Suzy, who in turn has been stringing along hapless airplane mechanic Frankie with the promise of marriage.

When Harry fires Frankie for drunkenness, his old friend Joe moves to town to take over as mechanic. Beth and Joe begin a flirtation. Harry, meanwhile, breaks it off with Suzy, who vows revenge.
Following an accidental death at their school, Harry and Beth organize a skydiving party/"night jump" to repair their school's reputation. Suzy pressures Frankie into helping her exact revenge on Harry at the party.
