Romy Schneider and Delon are spending some holiday in a luxurious house near the Mediterranean sea. They invite Maurice Ronet and his 18 years old daughter to stay a few days with them. Ronet, a rich record producer, has once been Schneider's lover and is Delon's best friend. Summer heat and alcoholic beverages encourage soon Schneider/Ronet and Delon/Birkin to flirt. But Ronet is always provoking Delon and, one night, dies in the pool while Delon is watching him drown himself. Will Romy Schneider help Delon when confronted by the police inspector Crauchet ?
