Detailed plot synopsis reviews of The Tall Men

Directed by Raoul Walsh in 1955. Ben and Clint Allison arrive in Montana territory without any money left. They decide then to rob the saloon owner Nathan Stark who offers then them a deal. If they help him guiding 5000 cows from Texas to Montana, he will share with the brothers half of the profit of the operation. Both agree and they head south. A few dozen miles further, they save the life of Nella Turner, a gold prospector who falls in love with Ben Allison. But the young woman doesn't share Ben's dream to buy a ranch in Texas with his future benefit and decides to stick with Nathan Stark who, more ambitious, promises to Nella the whole Montana territory.

In Texas, Nathan buys the cows and Ben hires the cattlemen who are all close friends of him. In Kansas, Ben and his men manage to push back an attack of cattle robbers. While tension is growing between Nathan Stark and Clint Allison, Ben and Nella hardly speak together. Further, the trail has been closed by the army because of the Sioux Oglalas who are at war. Nevertheless, Ben decides to go on with the herd. Clint is soon killed by the Indians.
