De Funès, a famous art dealer, meets Jean Gabin who's got a genuine Modigliani tattooed on his back. De Funès proposes to him to restore Gabin's country home in return for the tattoo.

The art dealer is slightly annoyed when he arrives at Gabin's mansion. It's a LARGE authentic castle and Gabin is in fact the last of the Counts of Montignac. But the tattoo is so valuable that De Funès agrees to renovate the castle.
