A massive explosion aboard a ship docked at San Pedro pier leaves 27 bodies, $91 million in cash, and two survivors: a terrified Hungarian terrorist and crippled con man Roger "Verbal" Kint (Spacey). The police lean on Verbal to tell them what he knows. He tells them six weeks before, he and four other criminals were rounded up in New York and questioned hard about a truck hijacking. Most irritated of the five is Dean Keaton (Byrne), a crooked cop who wants to go straight but gets talked into doing one more job while the suspects are waiting for their lawyers to post bail. It appears the criminal mastermind behind the job is the mysterious Keyser Soze, but little is known or can be discovered about him. This thrilling 1995 surprise hit has loads of suspense, intrigue, and a 1940s noir feel. Spacey and the screenplay won Oscars.
