Leo Handler has been released from prison for a car theft he didn't commit. He looks for a job, and finds one with his uncle Frank repairing railway cars but there is political corruption and attacks on rivals. Leo must work with the police to bring Frank and his company down.

THE YARDS is a 2000 movie directed by James Gray.
Mark Wahlberg is returning in New-York after having spent 18 months in prison. He is given a job by James Caan but things go wrong and he must violently hit a policeman in order to avoid an arrest.
Soon he has to defend himself against his family, his former friends who would prefer to see him dead.
A thriller with brains. One of the best movies of 2000.
