THE YARDS is a 2000 movie directed by James Gray.

Mark Wahlberg is returning in New-York after having spent 18 months in prison. He is given a job by James Caan but things go wrong and he must violently hit a policeman in order to avoid an arrest.

Soon he has to defend himself against his family, his former friends who would prefer to see him dead.

A thriller with brains. One of the best movies of 2000.
