Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Train of Life

Like LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL, this is a film set during the Holocaust. A group of Jews living in a shtetl agrees to an outrageous plan proffered by the town fool: escape slaughter by the Nazis by commandeering a train and riding the rails to freedom. Of course, at least some of the townsfolk have to pose as Nazis,in case they run into German troops en route. While much of the film has a HOGAN'S HEROES vibe, with the Jews outsmarting their persecutors, it nevertheless manages to inject a sense of horror at the circumstances, especially in the final scene.
