Hugh Grant is a pompous, rich brat who is often sexually drawn to his attorneys. His brother/boss says that has to end and that he needs a "real" attorney to help their business.
Enter Sandra Bullock and her humor. She's a pro-bono, civil attorney who often takes a stand and protests against Hugh Grant's major company. She goes to him to help save a community center on Coney Island and he offers her the job...because he's not attracted to her.
She takes the job and is at his beck and call for over 18 months before she goes bananas and gives her two weeks notice. In that time, she must find a replacement and then she has to fight off her feelings of love for Hugh.
He makes a schmuck of himself by not putting his foot down in regards to saving the community center and is almost seduced by his new attractive attorney, but in the end realizes his love for Sandra.

Lucy Kelson (Bullock) is an attorney who wants to save the world. George Wade (Grant) is a hapless billionaire who needs an assistant to help him with EVERYTHING from choosing ties to choosing the proper mattress. Together these two collide, banter, lock horns and make us once again ask the age old question- Do opposites really attract?
