I'm not sure you could actually classify this as a sci-fi movie, but it does have an alien and an unnaturally strong fat chick in it, and it parodies sci-fi stuff, so I guess it'll fit into this category. This is Weird Al's insane masterpiece. The story follows George (Weird Al) and his rise from unemployed looser to TV station manager. George can't keep a job because he's constantly daydreaming, not your everyday normal daydreaming where you're rich and powerful or making out with some chick, but the completely insane kind, where you're an immensely stupid Indiana Jones being chased, and eventually crushed, by a big boulder. George and his friend Bob get fired from their burger-flipping jobs when George insults their boss, Big Edna (she's the unnaturually strong fat chick- she picks them both up and chucks them about a hundred feet in the air). The George's aunt suggests that he manage the UHF TV station her husband has just won in a poker game. The station, U 62, is on the brink of bankruptcy until George hires Stanley Spadowski, a janitor who was recently fired from a local network station. George's lunacy pales in comparison with Stanley's, and Stanley miraculously becomes an instant hit when George asks him to cover for him on the station's live children's program. George then implements other bizaare shows in the line up, like his own Geraldo-like talk show and movies such as "Ghandi II" and "Conan the Librarian". It isn't long before the suprising news that U 62 is number one in the ratings. The news reaches the rival network station's sadistically evil manager, who does everything in his power to put U 62 out of business. This generally overlooked movie is chock full of parodies and mockeries, insane commercials and great cameos.

"Wierd Al's" first and only movie sets him as George, a guy who's girlfriend just left him and nobody will hire. Then he gets a call from his uncle who is giving him a TV station! At first George is excited, but his attempt at programming fails. full of dispair, he steps out during one of his kiddie shows and tells wierd janitor Stanly Spedowski (Richards) that he can have it. Suddenly, while drowning his sorrows, he sees that Stanly Spedowski's clubhouse has become the number one watched show in america! Other shows that followed included "Town Talk with George", "Ghandi II", and "Wheel of Fish". However, a rival station is planning to cause trouble. Hilarious.
